The race starts and finishes at Golden Gate Park in Brookville.  The race is in conjunction with the Brookville Community Picnic.

One of the few 5 mile races left in the Dayton Area.   Dick Baker and the Brookville Optimist Club founded the race 1991.  The race has attracted some of the state's top runners through the years.  It is part of the annual Brookville Community Picnic festivities.   Click on PAST RESULTS.  The top 10 of each picnic run is listed!

$12 with registration.  If postmarked by July 18th 2009, you will receive a unique multi-color T-shirt.  Race day registration $12, no shirt.  $1 of the entry fee goes to the 50/50 drawing.  Packet pick-up is at the Park the day of the race from 7:00-7:45 A.M.

2.5 miles:  Entry fee and registration are the same as the run!

5 mile certified course (OH91001PR) moves through rolling country roads and city streets.  There are splits at each mile and three water stations.  

Top three male and female finishers receive Longaberger picnic baskets.  Top three male and female runners receive age group awards in the following divisions:  Under 14, 14-17, 18-23, 24-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 -64, 65-69, 70 an up. Top three wheelchair finishers overall receive awards.

All registered runners are eligible.  You must be present to win!

Proceeds from the race will go to the Brookville Optimist Club Youth Projects Fund!
