Salem 5K
Location: Clayton, OH Participants: 150-300
Summary: The annual race in June begins and ends at the Salem Church of God. The event has posted some of the areas fastest race fields over the last decade. Several of the state's top runners have toed the line at Salem. However, the race is also a family venue as well offering a plethora of door prizes and post race refreshments from MarChele Pretzels and cookies from Grandma's Kitchen. The certified course is not flat, but runners usually run fast times due to the excellent competition.

Lou Cox 5K
Location: Dayton, OH Participants: 600-1100
Summary: No other 5K is targeted for a runner's peak performance than the Memorial Day Lou Cox 5K. This ORRRC race begins and ends at Welcome Stadium. The course is fast and flat with a track finish. You can expect anywhere The race begins and ends at the Salem Church of God. The event has posted some of the areas fastest race fields over the last decade. Ghost N Goblins 5K
Location: Dayton, OH Participants: 1500-2200
Summary: The GNG is the largest 5K event in the area. It's popularity has exploded over the past 10 years. The race begins and ends near the Downtown Riverscape. They've used various course layouts over the past few years due to construction. You'll see a cavalcade of costumes competing for the top costume honors. The post-race party features pizza, pop, and cookies. The race draws abilities of all kinds which makes it the most diverse race of the season.

Holiday at Home 5K
Location: Kettering, OH Participants: 400-1000

New Path 5K
Location: Tipp City, OH Participants: 300-600
Summary: The race is sponsored by New Path a division of the Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church. The course is certified and very challenging. The race offers some prize money and usually draws some good runners. However, if you're looking for a personal best, this is not the course. The race is chip timed by Speedy Feet.

Englewood Classic 5K
Location: Englewood, OH Participants: 200-400
Summary: The race is in junction with the Englewood Fine Arts Festival. The race kicks off a weekend of events complete with a popular parade after the run. The course is certified and features long straightaways. However, the times are not usually too fast as the 2nd mile features a long uphill. The finish is a 600 meter long sprint through the parade route. It's fun to hear all the crowd cheer for finishing runners.
